The angular flutes at the front end of these taps propel the chips ahead of the tap. This reduces loading and clogging in the flutes. Spiral Point taps are ideal for production tapping through holes. Sometimes referred to as “Gun Taps,” spiral point taps “shoot” the chips ahead of the tap. Spiral point taps eject chips ahead of the tap for reduced loading and clogging in flutes
